Modern Fonts

    Modern Fonts are a type classification that originated in the 18th century. They are characterized by their thin, long horizontal serifs, and clear-cut thick/thin transitions in the strokes. The stress is vertical, i.e. there is no slant on the letters. They tend to look very structured and could be considered cold.

    Modern fonts are characterized by their clean, crisp lines, minimalistic embellishments, and a focus on simplicity and legibility. Modern fonts were popular for a variety of reasons. They were easy to read and had a clean, elegant appearance. They were also well-suited for printing on metal type, which was the dominant printing technology of the time.

    Here are some examples of popular modern fonts: Bodoni, Helvetica, Avenir, Futura, Gotham, and Proxima Nova.
